Beijing will soon introduce 82 tourism projects with a primary investment estimate of some 78 billion yuan.
Ding Xiangyang, deputy mayor of Beijing Municipal Government, said that Beijing is planning to drive the development and structural optimization of the tourism industry by leveraging on the aftermath of the Olympics.
Presently, the annual added value of the tourism industry in Beijing already accounts for 6.9% of the annual GDP of Beijing, and the tourism industry has become a new economic growth point of the capital city.
