It is learned from the municipal government of Wuhan that the Wuhan National Rice Trading Center, covering an area of 2,000 mu and with an investment of over 3.7 billion yuan, recently started construction in the Yangluo Economic Development Zone in Xinzhou District, Wuhan.
This is China's first state-level rice trading center. Upon completion it is expected to have an annual trade volume of 10 million tons and a grain storage capacity of 350,000 tons, which will make the center in Wuhan China's largest rice trading center and transit depot for grain storage and logistics.
The state-level rice trading center being built in Wuhan boasts great advantages with regard to transportation and location. After the trading center, scheduled to be finished in five years, is constructed, it will become a national large-scale modern logistics zone for grain incorporating the eight major functions of grain storage, processing, transshipment, trading, delivery, inspection, information and service.
