Tibet Electric Power Company Ltd revealed that the "Electricity Available in Every House" project in rural areas would deliver electricity to every home in 15 counties of Tibet, according to the Xinhua News Agency. Electricity will become available to 174,000 farmers and herdsmen.

The chairman of the Board of the Tibet Electric Power Company Ltd Wang Qinghua said the "Electricity Available in Every House" project of rural Tibet started construction in April with an investment of 863 million yuan, aimed at helping 174,000 people in 215 administrative villages of 15 counties resolve their difficulties in accessing power. Confronting highland anoxia, difficult transportation of materials and abominable weather conditions, electricians pressed on with grid construction. Two villages under the Shigatse Prefecture and the country of Dagze already have access to electricity.

During the 11th Five-Year Plan period, upon the expansion of the grid network, Tibet will strive to make power available to households currently without electricity in 32 counties and prefectures.
