A devastating earthquake that jolted Wenchuan county and its adjacent areas in southwestern China on May 12 has inflicted tremendous losses upon people in the quake-stricken areas and stirred the hearts of all people in China and nationals of the Chinese origin worldwide. At present, all the Chinese people are concerned with latest relief efforts in the disaster areas. Hence, the China Association of Poverty Alleviation and Development (CAPAD) and the People's Daily Online appeal for donations to earthquake victims.
