After the news about the London police arrests of Tibet Independence separatists who tried to ruin Olympic torch relay activities was published, Internet users responded with a tremendous amount of commentary, expressing their condemnation of the"Tibet Independence" separatists' activities and for their appalling intention to undermine the Olympic torch relay.
Many Internet users warned that "Tibetan Independence" separatists now are up against the people who love peace in the world. Their thinking is wishful, yet ridiculous, because the Olympic torch not only belongs to China: it also belongs to the entire world. They now face condemnation from both Chinese people and those in the international community.
Among hundreds of thousands of messages, some pointed out the fierce intent of the "Tibet Independence" separatists to split the motherland. Many said that this, however, can not stop the progressing Olympic torch relay.
Many netizens say that the Olympic torch represents the noble Olympic spirit; and the relay demonstrates the ardent, global pursuit of excellence, friendship and respect. In the eyes of the international community, the Olympic torch relay recognizes the common understanding among the world's people to pursue universally accepted values; and this pursuit should be welcomed and supported. Interfering in the torch relay is a desecration of the Olympic spirit, as well as a frustration within the vision for world peace.
One contributor called "Loving life" said: "These people want to disrupt the torch relay. This is truly indicative of their spiteful behavior and true intent concealed behind so-called "peace."
Another contributor responded with: "Their ‘performance' undermines the peaceful objective of torch relay. The international community can see their objectives quite clearly.
A netizen named "a sentence shocking the bbs" pointed out in the "Qiangguo Forum" of People's Daily Online that attempts to blemish the torch relay would only further enhance the determination of governments around the world to safeguard the smooth transfer of the Olympic torch.
