The Yuanwang measuring fleet will carry out sea monitoring and control tasks while the Shenzhou-7 is in operation. At present, the preparation work is basically completed, said Jian Shilong, head of China's aerospace oceanbound measuring fleet base, at the 30th anniversary of the base's establishment on July 23.

Jian said that several Yuanwang vessels and two new generation aerospace oceanbound measuring vessels will be sent to the Pacific Ocean and Indian Ocean to implement Shenzhou-7 sea monitoring and control tasks. In the history of the Yuanwang fleet, this is the largest number of vessels sent and the largest scale of work done.
