China issues rules on management of military engineering equipment

China's State Council and the Central Military Commission (CMC) have issued regulations on the management of key military engineering equipment and establishments.

According to the rules, key military engineering equipment and establishments refer to experiment equipment and technic facilities that are crucial and can be directly used for the scientific research and production of weapons and outfits.

The regulations aim to promote the country's capacities for scientific research and production in the national defense field while ensuring safety and effective use of military engineering facilities.

The regulations will take effect on October 1, according to an order signed by President and CMC Chairman Hu Jintao and Premier Wen Jiabao.
