A senior Chinese official has urged government to promote tourism of revolutionary sites ahead of the 90th founding anniversary of the Communist Party of China (CPC).

Liu Yunshan, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, made the remarks on Wednesday in Beijing.

Liu said to encourage tourists to visit revolutionary sites was an important task for the CPC.

Government should further promote revolutionary sites as a place of tourism to increase tourism's educational function among the public and help people better know the history of the CPC, he said.

Promoting tourism in revolutionary sites could increase people's affinity with socialistic values and improve society, the official added.
