A speed boat passes by a vessel during a land-sea-air search and rescue exercise launched by authorities of the Chinese mainland and southeast China's Taiwan in the Taiwan Strait Sept. 16, 2010. The rescue and search exercise, which was the first of its kind jointly held by both sides of the Taiwan Strait in history, followed a mock collision of two passenger-cargo vessels in the waters off Xiamen, southeast China's Fujian Province, and Jinmen of Taiwan. Besides the passenger-cargo vessels, 14 rescue vessels, three helicopters and more than 400 people took part in the exercise.(Xinhua/Wei Peiquan)
