A tea party was held to celebrate the 19th anniversary of Straits Exchange Foundation (SEF) in Taipei, March 9. SEF Chairman Chiang Pin-kung and Koo Yen Cho-yun, the widow of former SEF Chairman Koo Chen-fu, joined the celebration.

In his speech, Chiang pointed out that the cross-Straits trade volume has developed from 8 billion U.S. dollars in 1991 when SEF was established to 100 billion U.S. dollars in 2008. There have been four rounds of consultations and 12 agreements have been signed with support from Taiwan authorities and board of directors and supervisors since 2008, unfolding the two-way "three links". Chiang added that SEF would play a more important role in providing services and facilitating exchanges.

A photo exhibition featuring cross-Straits exchanges and cooperation was also held to mark SEF's 19th anniversary.
