The 21st session of the standing committee of the Seventh Central Committee of the Taiwan Democratic Self-Government League (TSL) was held in Beijing Tuesday.
This was the last such meeting held before the TSL convenes its eighth all-league congress on which the eighth league central committee will be selected.
Lin Wenyi, chairperson of the TSL's Central Committee, presided over the session.
The session examined and approved a draft report by the Seventh Central Committee of the TSL as well as a draft amendment to the TCL's Constitution to be submitted to the upcoming 8th all-league congress.
As one of the eight democratic parties of the country, the TSL was founded in Hong Kong on November 12, 1947 by a number of Taiwan personages engaged in patriotic campaigns after the February 28 Uprising of the Taiwan people that year.
The TSL is composed of people from Taiwan.
The TSL now has branches in 13 provinces and municipalities, with a membership of over 2,100. Source:Xinhua
