Taking an airplane can be as speedy and convenient as riding a "public bus." Starting with this year's new summer and fall travel seasons, China Eastern Airlines will initiate 11 express air routes with Shanghai and Beijing as major hubs.

Reporters learned there will be a minimum of 14 roundtrip flights per day for each of the 11 air routes, with the most number of roundtrip flights being between Shanghai and Beijing (32 flights per day), and Shanghai and Hong Kong (22 flights per day). These express air routes will also link Shanghai to Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Xi'an, Kunming and Wuhan, as well as Xi'an to Beijing, and Kunming to Beijing. The number of China Eastern Airlines roundtrip flights traveling the 11 express air routes will exceed 200 per day.
