Chinese readers home and abroad have left messages on PD Online, demanding CNN to apologize to Chinese people and Government for its comentator's malicious comments on China.

Jack Cafferty, commentator for CNN's political program, The Situation Room, charged the Chinese people with a highly despicable assault by saying, "They (Chinese) are basically the same bunch goons and thugs they have been in the past fifty years,"

The messages are as follows:

"No offence to Chinese people. So said CNN in making its mea culpa to the Chinese people, but note this: CNN has not taken back the malicious comments of its antiquated TV presenter called Jack Cafferty? Instead, CNN has widened the attack and raised the ante by saying that the comments constitute a strongly held opinion aimed directly at the legitimate government of the people in China. The nefarious nature of the offence lies not so much in this rube Jack, but stems from the fact that the offence came from an international news network. There seems to be reckless and contemptuous disregard for others in the way CNN has handled this despicable attack on one of its TV programmes. NO OFFENCE, but I think its time for the Chinese government, the people it represents and Chinese people worldwide to take punitive measures against CNN until it eats back its own vomit. Shutting CNN into oblivion in the Beijing Olympics is a wonderful start."

"I am a chinese american living in China, I lived in the united states for 24 years .. I can honestly say that these American political commentators are all low educated farmers who have nothing better to do but try to make a name for themselves. I think the guy should look in the mirror and apologize to himself for being such a worthless human-being. I love the Olympics and my mother country. Go China!"

"As a Singaporean and a Chinese I felt very insulted by CNN and other Western Media over the Tibet Issue. I strongly feel that actions must be taken to stop them and on way is to bar CNN in China. Also BBC. Block all their websites as a start...these bunch of CNN people are shit people fit for the garbage."

"Enough is Enough. Jack Cafferty you just simply don't know how much you had insulted the Chinese people. Being an American Chinese/Chinese American nor Chinese from China/ Chinese around the world,we simply are waiting for your 'Public Apology'.As simple as that.Chinese people always carry the character 'REN NAI' up until to this day and will remain to carry on until you (Jack Cafferty)sincerely apologize to the Chinese people in the public via CNN. If you don't apologize then shame on you!"
