Gu Xiulian, vice chairwoman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, China's top legislature, Monday met with Lee Soo-Sung, former Prime Minister of the Republic of Korea (ROK).
Lee, who took the office of prime minister during 1995 to 1997, is here to attend the seventh Korea-China Leader's Forum on Tuesday, to be jointly hosted by the Chinese People's Institute of Foreign Affairs and the 21st century Korea-China Exchange Association.
This year marks the 15th anniversary of the establishment of China-ROK diplomatic ties. The Forum, focusing on the healthy development of bilateral ties, will be conducive to the mutual understanding and friendship between the two peoples, Gu said.
Gu and Lee also exchanged ideas on other issues of common concern.
