The vice governor of Heilongjiang province Sun Yao met with Osvaldo Rosales, the special representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America, who attended the second China-Latin America Entrepreneurs Summit.

Sun welcomed Rosales. He said arable land in Heilongjiang province accounts for one-tenth of the country's agricultural base, and is similar to Latin American countries, so the two sides should strengthen cooperation in agricultural processing, and healthcare cooperation.

Through business and tourism trips on both sides, mutual understanding will be further deepened. Heilongjiang province is willing to strengthen cooperation with Latin American countries in the field of science and technology so that industrial development and trade cooperation will be strengthened.

Rosales said that through his participation at the summit he has seen a huge potential for cooperation between China and Latin America.

He also said he hoped the two sides could increase investment cooperation. Heilongjiang province would increase exchanges and the exportation of technology and personnel to Latin American countries in order to establish a direct cooperative relationship between the two sides and expand investment opportunities.

The Roundtable Meeting of China - Latin American trade promotion agencies was held in Harbin in October. President Wan Jifei of the Chinese Council for the Promotion of International Trade attended the meeting.

At the meeting, representatives of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and delegates from Argentina, Brazil, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Peru, Uruguay, Mexico, Cuba, Ecuador, Guatemala and other Latin American countries, on behalf of their Business associations, discussed "innovate trade and service and strengthen regional cooperation", the theme of the summit.

China-Latin American trade promotion agencies at the roundtable meeting stressed that the trade promotion agencies of China and Latin America would continually strengthen cooperation through information exchanges, organization of economic and trade delegation visits and talks, seminars and exhibition fairs.

Provincial Vice Governor Sun Yao met with Juan Carlos Cante, the general representative of the Asia-Pacific Region of Mexico Promotion Investment Bureau, and exchanged opinions on the issues of promoting trade.

Sun, on behalf of the provincial government, welcomed Cante. He said, at present, Heilongjiang province has done well in terms of machinery and equipment manufacturing, healthcare products, light industrial products and the tourism industry, such as snow and ice tourism in winter, which has become an international brand.

He hoped that through continued exchanges with Heilongjiang and Mexico, both sides could develop cooperation in tourism, science and technology. Cante agreed, he said that Mexico was looking forward to strengthening cooperation with Heilongjiang in the fields of culture, economy and education.

Sun said Heilongjiang province wishes to cooperate with Mexico's enterprises in the food processing machinery, light industrial products and health products. He also said that Heilongjiang will provide more relevant information to Mexico, and at an appropriate time, the two organizations and entrepreneurs can visit each other and understand each other's businesses and markets.

Cante said he believed that Mexico's businesses were looking forward to establishing trade relations with Asian and Chinese enterprises. In tourism, China and Mexico signed an agreement and Cante said he hoped that tourism enterprises in Mexico and in Heilongjiang would establish cooperative relations.
