In order to further narrow the gap between the government and the masses, starting from May of this year, Nanjing's mayor and vice mayor will engage in regular online dialogue with the public.

The online dialogue with the public is an important measure by the Nanjing government to form closer ties with the masses. In principle, the dialogue will occur every two months; and each time, mayors will directly listen to public views on the topic of discussion. They will also immediately address the problems raised by the public with effective measures.

In addition, the government will intensify efficiency in the review of commentary in the mayor's box. According to regulations, mayors and vice mayors will read over the letters sent to the Mayor's mail box in a timely manner; and create an effective solution. At the same time, they will strengthen dialogues between the public and the government and enterprises.
