China's Zhang Juanjuan shot an Olympic tying score of 115 points, ousting world record holder Yun Ok-Hee to reach women's individual final at the archery field on Thursday.

The 27-year-old Zhang presented an outstanding performance with seven tens and five nines to knock out South Korean Yun 115-109 in the rain.

With a big crowd cheering for Zhang, Zhang put on a perfect 10-10-10 in her first three arrows, pushing Yun to a difficult situation.

Zhang, two-time Olympian and women's team silver medallist, kept her composure and continued with a series of no-less than nine to make it to the final.

South Korea has never allowed the women's individual title slip away since the 1984 Los Angeles Games and is poised to win the title for the seventh time in a row here as three South Koreans claimed the top three positions in ranking round.

China's best results in women's individual are silvers coming from He Ying at the 1996 Atlanta Games and Li Lingjuan at the 1984 Los Angeles Games.

China is also the women's team silver medallists for three times at the Barcelona 1992, Athens 2004 and Beijing 2008 Games.

Zhang is to play next against reigning champion and No. 1 seed Park Sung-Hyun of South Korea, who just edged out DPR Korean Kwon Un-Sil 109- 106 at the semifinal.

Park also renewed the Olympic record of 115 from previous 114 in the eliminations.
