Beijing, May 8 (People's Daily Online)--Life in Israel is as safe as anywhere else in the world, said Prof. Manuel Trajtenberg, an official with the Council for Higher Education of Israel as he tried to ease Chinese student’s security concerns at a press conference yesterday.

As Israel offers its new package of scholarships to Chinese students, Chinese students are worried about the safety in Israel.

Prof. Manuel Trajtenberg argued that pictures of security make good televisions but do not reflect life there.

The Council for Higher Education of Israel is a corporation established by the Council for Higher Education Law, 1958-5718, with the aim of being the national institution for higher education in Israel.

China and Israel agree to launch calls for proposals to support collaborative basic research projects between Chinese and Israeli scientists in the areas of Life Sciences and Medicine and Exact Sciences and Technology. And with an annual budget of 30 million new Israeli shekels for scholarships, Israel will offer 300 postdoctoral fellowships to Chinese students annually.
