A 9-year-old boy was hurt in the eye when his angry teacher threw a pen at him yesterday in a primary school in Yangpu District, Shanghai, the Oriental Moring Post reported.

The boy surnamed Dan suffered a prick in the cornea and received an eye surgery last night. His eye-sight might be affected, said to a doctor at the Xinhua Hospital.

The teacher lost her temper and threw a pen at the naughty student yesterday noon, said an official with the Yangpu District Education Bureau.

Police have questioned Dan's parents and the school for investigation.
