SINGAPORE, Jan. 19 (Xinhua) -- Japanese electronics and media industry giant Sony has launched a corporate university campus in Singapore, the first outside Japan, local paper the Straits Times reported on Thursday.

The campus located in the International Business Park in Jurong will be used to train middle and senior executives for positions in Asia Pacific and emerging markets such as India, China, Vietnam and the Middle East, the paper said.

The company will pump about 4.5 million Singapore dollars (3.5 million U.S. dollars) over the next three years in the campus and will partner with local organizations. Classes at the Singapore campus will commence in March, with an expected annual enrollment of 70 to 100 international students.
