Space X's unmanned Dragon cargo capsule has splashed back to earth in the Pacific Ocean after returning from the International Space Station.
It brought an end to the first US supply run to the ISS since the space shuttle program was retired last year.
Following a successful test flight in May, the company launched the Dragon cargo ship on October the 7th. Unlike the Russian, Japanese and European freighters, Dragon was designed for round-trip flights. It returned with 759 kilos of equipment and science samples, including hundreds of frozen urine and blood samples from the crew.
SpaceX is one of two privately owned firms hired by NASA to fly science experiments and supplies to the space station. The company’s next supply run is expected in January.
