China's new research vessel launches in Wuhan

On Nov. 30, a new generation of integrated scientific research vessel, the Science, set sail in waters off Wuhan, the capital city of central China's Hubei province.

The successful voyage of the research vessel symbolizes that China's scientific research has reached an advanced level in the international community.

The scientific vessel, 99.6 meters long and 17.8 wide, has a total tonnage of 4,864 tons. The cruising capacity of the ship reaches 15,000 nautical miles, and can sustain for 60 days with a maximum speed 15 knots. It can accommodate 80 people.

The vessel was built by Wuchang Shipbuilding Industry Company Ltd. in Wuhan.
