China's space re-docking mission succeeds

Beijing, Nov.14 (People's Daily Online) --China's unmanned spacecraft Shenzhou-8 and its space lab module Tiangong-1 have successfully re-docked under the precise control of the Beijing Aerospace Control Center at 8:00 p.m. of Nov. 14.

The re-docking has further examined the function and performance of the docking measurement equipments as well as the docking mechanism, which achieved the expected goal.

The combination of Shenzhou-8 and its space lab module Tiangong-1 has successfully separated after finishing the docking mechanism’s self-checking and unlocking of the docking lock at 7:28 p.m., which slowly moved to the 140-meter mooring point.
