Beijing, Nov.11 (People's Daily Online) --NASA announced on Nov. 8 that it plans to conduct an unmanned test flight of the Orion spacecraft in early 2014. This will be a major step for U.S. efforts to explore deep space and eventually send astronauts to Mars.

The test flight will aim to collect key data on the return and recovery of the Orion spacecraft, which will then be used as supporting data in developing heavy-lift rockets and ensuring the safe return of astronauts to the Earth.
