Beijing, Nov.10 (People's Daily Online) -- Chinese volunteer Wang Yue and the other five volunteers from Russia, France and Italy gave a comprehensive account of their work, living experiences and experiments in a capsule over the past 520 days at a news conference held for the recently ended Mars-500 project, a 520-day simulated manned mission to Mars, in Moscow on Nov. 8 at around 1 p.m. local time..

Wang said that China's experiments regarding traditional Chinese medicine, biorhythms and oxidative stress, and psychology all generated desirable results.

Extensive research data from 105 experiments during 520 days

Reporter: What is the outcome of the 520-day mission?

Wang: We have obtained extensive research data from 105 experiments covering five disciplines, such as physiology, psychology and microbiology. The data are particularly valuable to China’s research in aerospace medicine.

Reporter: What is the outcome of the traditional Chinese medicine experiment?

Wang: A digital diagnostic device using four traditional Chinese diagnostic methods records the face and tongue conditions of the six participants of the Mars-500 mission. Now the data collected can be used for detailed research.
