Three people were killed after a building collapsed on them on Friday in Karaole, Ifako-Ijaiye Local Government Area, of Nigeria's economic hub Lagos.
Two other victims were in critical condition at a hospital in the city. This is the second such accident in the southern coastal city.
Femi Osayimeolu, General Manager of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, headed a rescue team to the scene to bring out people trapped in the debris.
Local security agents were working over night at the scene to guard against any looting.
The final death toll has not yet been revealed by now, neither the reasons that led to the collapse.
