Nigeria's First Bank Basketball Club will have to wait till the end of the All Africa Games to commence preparation for the FIBA African Club Championship for women, which come up in November.

After conquering the local scene, First Bank Basketball Club seeks to rule Africa once again after winning the top prize at the 2003 edition. Coach Adewunmi Aderemi said the team is prepared to win the trophy this year.

Aderemi said five of his players would be involved with national team build up to the All African Games, though, the players and the national team officials are in the dark over when final preparation would commence.

Aderemi added the experience garnered at this year's edition of the Zenith Bank Female Premier Basketball League would prepare his team for the challenges on the continental front.

He said, "I must say that competing in this year's league has been a worthwhile experience. The stiff oppositions we encountered would definitely prepare us for the Africa Championship, which I expect my team to win."

"If we get the needed support as usual from the parent company. It has been long since we won the title in 2003 and after winning bronze at three other editions, this is the right time for us to win the event again," he said.
