Defending first-division champions Young Africans on Saturday defeated Mtibwa Sugar 3-2 in the Group A play-off of the Tanzanian mini league soccer tournament.

The match was played in Arusha of northern Tanzania.

In Group B in Morogoro, Simba SC beat Ashanti United 2-1 after a first-half tie of one-all. Simba SC were the runners-up of last year's first division league.

Six clubs are playing in two play-off groups to sort out the top two clubs to represent the country in next year's African Champions League and the Confederation Cup tourneys.

JKT Ruvu is playing in Group A while Polisi Moro is playing in Group B.

The six clubs completed the preliminary round with better scorings to advance into the play-offs.
