Chinese vice premier calls for improvement to community medical services
font size

Chinese Vice Premier Wu Yi said Wednesday that the community-based health care system should be further improved to benefit more people.

Experience showed the community-based health care system has played an important role in providing convenient and affordable medical services to the people, she said at a national conference on urban community medical services.

She urged local governments to work out measures to realize the goals set by the State Council for community medical services -- including expanding service coverage and boosting investment in medical equipment and staff training.

Wu also stressed that local governments need to strengthen supervision of community medical services to provide qualified and safe services for people.
