Kim Jong Il, leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), has praised Chinese doctors for their super medical skills in treating a women soldier with severe burns, reports the Rodong Sinmun (Labor Newspaper), the organ of the Central Committee of the Korean Workers' Party, on June 18.

Kim give the citation during a meeting with the female soldier surnamed Kim who had once undergone a surgery at the Plastic Surgery Hospital under the Chinese Academy of Medicinal Science. His meeting took place after he watched the 10th joint performance of soldiers' families.

The woman soldier has voiced her gratitude for the Chinese doctors, who gave her a new face and a new lease of life as well. She was seriously injured while performing her duty to quench a mountain fire in March 1998 and, in December 2004, Kim Jong Il instructed to send her and other two fellow soldiers with severe burns to the most ideal Chinese hospital, and original lovely looks restored to her face in 2005 after 11 full months of treatment and intense care in China.

After staring at her photos, Kim Jong Il reportedly said with joy: "It is simply a miracle, which fills people with excitement!"
