China's standard of cell phone charger interface was initially implemented on June 14th. All domestic cell phones and chargers must match the standard. For chargers that are incompatible with each other only render more chargers useless after switching cell phones.
On June 12th, the Ministry of the Information Industry (MII) announced that chargers of fifteen enterprises such as Nokia, Motorola, Xiaxin, Bird, Lenovo and Haier, had been authorized. All cell phones and chargers which met the standard will be available for purchase in July 2007. This is the first standard on charger interface properties, electrical properties, safety and electromagnetic compatibility, and environmental reliability in China.
