The first Chinese Light Industry Products Exhibition will be held from July 17th to the 19th in Pyongyang, DPRK. There are already several hundred industrial enterprises specializing in appliances, everyday goods, hardware, plastic, and textiles, signed up to participate in the event. This exhibition will be the first national trade exhibition held in the DPRK, and it will also be the first time that citizens of the DPRK will be allowed to participate in such purchases.

Authorized by the Ministry of Trade of the DPRK, and sponsored by the Light Industry Enterprises Investment and Development Association of China and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, the exhibition will take place on a site of 24,000 square meters. According to Hu Nan, director of the Light Industry Enterprises Investment and Development Association of China, a DPRK conference group, under the guidance of the association, finalized the project after three and a half years of preparation, investigation, and negotiation.
