font size

Mohand Laenser, Moroccan minister for agriculture, rural development and sea fisheries on Tuesday held discussions with Charles Zacharie Bowao, Republic of Congo's minister for cooperation, humanitarian action and solidarity in a view to boosting their cooperation in agriculture.

They examined the strengths of the two nations in the sectors of agriculture, animal rearing and sea fishing, calling for renewed impetus in cooperation in the domains of traditional fishing, sharing of expertise, training and supervision.

The two ministers also emphasized the need to translate the objectives established by Morocco and the Republic of Congo in these domains into action.

In a statement to the press at the end of their discussions, Bowao said agriculture constituted an important basis for cooperation between the two countries.

The meeting between the two ministers took place on the sidelines of the first session of the Morocco-Republic of Congo joint commission, which opened Tuesday in Rabat, capital of Morocco, chaired jointly by Bowao and Moroccan foreign minister Mohamed Benaissa.
