South Korean Foreign Ministry said Saturday that one South Korean passenger was killed with 114 people aboard a Kenya Airways flight when it crashed in southern Cameroon earlier in the day.

It was confirmed that a South Korean male student from Burkina Faso, boarded the crashed airplane, said the ministry. The victim was identified only by his surname, Kim.

The ministry said it is checking whether more South Korean passengers were on the plane.

A Kenya Airways flight with 115 people aboard crashed Friday night in a town between Nyede and Mvengue in the department of Ocean, southern Cameroon, Cameroonian national radio reported on Saturday.
