    Soyuz spaceship lands successfully

    Technical staff carry U.S. astronaut Michael Lopez-Alegria after he returned to earth in a Russian Souyz TMA-9 space capsule, about 500 km (311 miles) southwest of Karaganda, April 21, 2007. A Russian Soyuz capsule carrying two astronauts and the the world's fifth civilian space traveler landed successfully at a planned site in Kazakhstan on Saturday after 13 days in orbit.

    Sarkozy, Royal enter French presidential run-off

    Right-wing Nicolas Sarkozy (R) and Socialist Segolene Royal (L) have entered the second round of the French presidential race, first results indicated on Sunday. Sarkozy won between 30.1 and 30.8 percent of the vote while Royal between 25.2 and 25.9 percent, according to major survey organizations.
