Tajikistan says Iran has right to peaceful use of nuclear energy

Iran has every right to peaceful use of nuclear energy if it meets the requirements of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Tajikistan' Foreign Minister Khamrokhon Zaripov said on Wednesday.

The Iranian nuclear issue should be settled through negotiations, not by force, the Interfax news agency quoted Zaripov as saying at a press conference in Dushanbe, capital of Tajikistan.

Speaking of the situation in Kyrgyzstan, the foreign minister said stability in that country is of great importance to the entire region and he hoped that the Kyrgyz authorities would achieve reconciliation with the opposition parties.

With regard to the Tajik-Russian ties, Zaripov said Russia has always been a strategic partner of Kyrgyzstan and will continue to be so in the future. He also said Tajikistan will stick to its multilateral foreign policy.
