Head of Poland's presidential cabinet Elzbieta Jakubiak told PAP news agency that the presidents discussed mutual economic cooperation as part of the so-called Swiss financial instrument, or the source of grants for the construction of infrastructure and improvement in the education system for which Poland may apply.

According to Jakubiak, the two leaders exchanged views on the EU Constitutional Treaty. Kaczynski familiarized the Swiss president with settlements of the Berlin Declaration, signed on the 50th anniversary of the signing of the Treaties of Rome which gave rise to the EU.
