China reaffirms Iran's nuclear issue should be solved in peaceful way
font size

Negotiations and actions concerning Iran's nuclear issue should be conducive to international diplomatic efforts, said Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Liu Jianchao Tuesday.

Liu told a routine press conference that China is highly concerned about Iran's nuclear issue. China opposes to the proliferation of nuclear weapons and holds to solve the issue through peaceful negotiations with political and diplomatic efforts.

He said China has actively participated in the UN security council's negotiations on the issue. China will continue its consultations with parties concerned to solve the issue via diplomatic channel.

Britain, China, France, Germany, Russia and the United States reached an agreement on a draft UN Security Council resolution on March 15, imposing tougher sanctions against Iran on its unyielding nuclear ambitions.
