font size

Albanian Parliament Speaker Jozefina Topalli met with Polish Senate Speaker Bogdan Borusewicz in Warsaw on Tuesday.

Speaking to reporters after the talks, Topalli said he hoped the Polish parliament will ratify the stabilization and association agreement signed by Albania and the European Union, the Polish PAP news agency reported.

Borusewicz said he could not see any problems with ratifying the agreement. He said he appreciated the fact that Albania's foreign policy contributed to the stabilization of the region.

Borusewicz assured Topalli that Albania could count on Poland's support for its efforts to join NATO and the EU, according to the PAP report.

Poland is in favour of an EU open to new members, Borusewicz said.
