Defending champions Shandong Luneng beaten 1-0 by Shanghai Shenhua

Defending champions Shandong Luneng slumped to their first defeat of the new season on Sunday when they lost 1-0 away to Shanghai Shenhua.

Forward Yu Tao grabbed the winner seven minutes after halftime when he fired home a powerful shot from outside the penalty box.

Shandong and Shanghai now both have four points from two matches, but Shandong are in fifth place, and Shanghai ninth.

Dalian Shide, the eight-time Chinese champions, emerged as the only side that won both games after two rounds of play. They lead the standings with six points.

In Xi'an, the capital city of northwest China's Shaanxi province, Xiamen Lanshi came from one goal down to beat Shaanxi Baorong 2-1.

In Beijing, Beijing Guo'an were held to a goalless draw at home by Henan Jianye, who are making their debut in the top flight of the Chinese league.

In central China's Changsha, Changsha Jinde downed Zhejiang Lucheng 3-2.

In Qingdao, a coastal city in east China's Shandong Province, Qingdao Zhongneng handed Liaoning their second defeat in as many games, 2-0.
