Seven people killed in attacks south of Baghdad

Seven people, including five policemen, were killed and five others wounded in two incidents in a town south of Baghdad on Sunday, police source said.

A roadside bomb detonated when experts from the Iraqi police were trying to defuse it on the main road in the town of Mussaiyab, some 80 km south of Baghdad, on Sunday morning, the source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.

The blast killed five police experts and wounded five others, the source added.

In a separate incident, gunmen shot dead two civilians from one family near a parking lot in the town, the source said, adding that the police was investigating the incident.
