Brazilian striker Ronny Silva joins China's Changchun Yatai
font size

Brazilian striker Ronny Silva, who contributed 14 goals for Pacos de Ferreira in Portuguese Liga last season, has joined China's Changchun Yatai.

"Silva will be fielded with No. 10 jersey in our first round game against Xiamen Lanshi in the Chinese Super League this weekend," said an Yatai offical here on Thursday.

Silva, born on Feb. 25, 1983, had made a record 24 goals in a single season in the Swiss premier league.

Although Silva's contract with Ferreira would expire this June, he was rent to China's Shanghai Shenhua in January 2007. However, the incorporation of Shanghai Shenhua and Shanghai Liancheng and the replacement of the coach sent Silva to an embarrassing situation. Then the Brazilian striker was transferred to Yatai.
