font size

Ten people were detained during a U.S. forces search operation on Thursday in Iraq's restive city of Fallujah, some 50 km west of Baghdad, a local police source said.

"The U.S. forces detained Thursday ten people during a search operation at the eastern gate of the city," the source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity, adding the majority of detainees are buses drivers.

The U.S. military did not confirm the incident.

Earlier, Iraqi police source said that they found two unidentified bodies in al-A'anaz neighborhood, in eastern Fallujah.

The bullet-riddled bodies were bound and blindfolded, showing signs of torture, he said, adding that the Iraqi police have transferred them to the morgue.
