font size

Two teenagers were killed in India-controlled Kashmir when an improvised explosive device (IED) exploded in one of their hands, Indo-Asian News Service reported Thursday.

The local police said Thursday that the incident took place in Lablotha area near Banihal, 190 km from Jammu, winter capital of the region, late Wednesday.

The boy carrying the explosive was killed immediately while the other died on the way to hospital, the police said.

The boys might get the landmine from militants and be asked to plant it somewhere, said Superintendent of Police Basant Kumar Rath.
