China's geological disasters on the rise, cause more deaths

China's geological disasters more than quintupled this year due to frequent typhoons, with 15.4 percent more people killed or missing, said the Ministry of Land and Resources on Saturday.

The ministry didn't reveal specific numbers.

The State Environmental Protection Administration has said that 578 people died in 17,751 geological disasters last year, with 104 missing and 339 injured.
