Two people wounded in car bomb in Baghdad
font size

Two people were wounded when a car bomb went off near a pharmacy in western Baghdad on Wednesday, a police source said.

"A car bomb parking near a pharmacy close to the al-Yarmouk Hospital went off, slightly wounding two people," the source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.

Earlier, five people were killed and 10 others wounded when two car bombs went off in quick succession near the Sunni al-Samarraie mosque at a busy popular market in Baghdad's al-Jadida neighborhood, the police said.

In separate incident, at least 10 people were also killed and 26 others wounded earlier on Wednesday when a car bomb went off near a Shiite mosque in Kamaliyah neighborhood in Baghdad.

Violence sweeps Iraqi cities as insurgent attacks, sectarian killings, car bombings, roadside bombs claim dozens of Iraqi lives daily.
