Chinese shares opened slightly higher on Tuesday as the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index, a major index of Chinese shares, opened at 2,167.36 points, up 5.72 points, or 0.26 percent higher.
The index, which tracks both yuan-denominated A shares and hard-currency B shares traded on the Shanghai Stock Exchange, closed at 2,161.65 points on Monday, up 2.84 percent from previous close. .
