The Ninth Congress of Mozambique's ruling Frelimo Party re-elected Mozambique President Armando Guebuza as party boss, Mozambique News Agency (AIM) reported on Wednesday from Maputo.

Guebuza's name was the only one on the ballot paper while no others imposed a challenge to him, said AIM. Guebuza was re- elected with 1,321 votes in favor against four invalid votes and one blank ballot.

The Congress had approved, in closed session on Wednesday, the results of the primary elections for the Central Committee held in 11 provinces of the country.
