Beijing to monitor birth sex ratio in mobile population
font size

The Beijing Municipal Commission of Population and Family Planning announced yesterday it will monitor the birth sex ratio of the mobile population.

The normal birth sex ratio for girls and boys is 100 to somewhere between 102 and 107. The ratio in 1982 was 100 to 108; in 2005 it was 100 to 118.58; and this year it is 109 to 100.

The commission is doing this to help them gradually resolve the issue of the imbalance in the birth sex ratio.
