Four guerillas killed, 17 captured in Colombia

Four guerillas were killed and 17 others captured in a series of military operations conducted by the Colombian army over the weekend, Colonel Paulino Coronado of the Colombian army's 30th brigade said on Monday.

Two guerillas from the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC), the largest rebel group in the country, were killed in fighting in the town of Barranco Minas in the eastern department of Guainia, one in Ituango in the northeastern department of Antioquia, and another one in Vistahermosa in the central department of Meta.

Also in the operations, the Colombian army captured 10 guerillas from the FARC and seven guerillas from the National Liberation Army, the second largest rebel group in the country, in Saravena in the eastern department of Arauca.
